The 7 Up Can Gets a Little Love

Metro Property Services has been in business since 1991 and has worked on many recognizable buildings and structures in Jacksonville during this time.

Before it was removed in 2009, Metro’s Painting Division was contracted by the Dr. Pepper Group to paint the production facility ceiling as well as treat severely rusted areas on the 7 Up Can structure.

The iconic 7 Up Can was seen by thousands of people everyday who used Interstate 95. It stood 62 feet tall and was designed to look like a can of soda but it was actually a water tank that held more than 60,000 gallons of treated water for the bottling lines at the plant.
